Calling all advanced crocheters or those who would like to test themselves to the next level in their crochet education.
Have you ever wanted to challenge yourself, I did after spending some time recouping from surgery I wasn’t in the frame of mind to design and I wanted something special to keep my hooks going and I found the perfect pattern, not only did it keep my interest from waning but also it also kept my brain neurons firing.
Thanks to the wonders of Instagram I came across Grace Fearon and her amazing designs. I was instantly mesmerized by the intricate stitches and delicate patterns.
I spent a couple of days going back and forth on which one to pick but my eyes kept drawing back to Marion.
There is something very feminine about Marion that evoked my inner goddess.
The pattern calls for #10 thread but I decided to give myself a break and went with Stylecraft Classique 4ply cotton in Ivory as I wanted the pattern to challenge me but not the yarn, I was after that vintage look, like it has been passed down through the ages, another reason I went for a 4ply instead of a thread is that I have a very big dining table that Marion would take pride and place on and I needed it to be bigger so it didn’t get lost on the table. The measurements in thread is 14.5 by 12 inches, mine in 4ply came up at 23 by 21 inches.
I’m so happy with the end result, my mother in law has got her eye on it but this one is for me and me only, I do plan on hooking Grace’s newest design “Ahmanet” which would make a perfect Christmas gift.
