Lesson One – How to Chain
Almost all crochet patterns starts with a foundation chain. Stitches are then worked into to the chain. In written patterns its is abbreviated to (ch).
Start by making a slip knot with your yarn onto your hook. (Pic 1)
Yarn over – going under and over the yarn strand. (Pic 2)
Catch the yarn at the end of your hook and pull through the loop that is already on your hook. (Pic 3)
You just made your 1st chain.
Continue to yarn over and pull through loop on your hook until you have the desired amount of chains
